Krysta Quiambao

Krysta Quiambao was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and has circulated the dance studio realm for 23+ years. She began dancing at a very young age at The Dance Factory, which now has become her family's dance studio Breakin’ Beats Dance Studio. She trained heavily in Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Tap. She received her Bachelor of Science in Theatre and Dance from Lamar University in Spring of 2019, where she studied with Lou Arrington, Brixey Blankenship-Cozad, Amy Elizabeth, Travis Prokop, and Golden Wright. Krysta then began her Graduate studies at Sam Houston State University. Krysta studied under Rasika Borse, Cisco Graciano, Colette Kerwick, Adele Nickel, Andy and Dionne Noble, Evelyn Toh, and Jennifer Pontius and graduated with her M.F.A in May 2023. Krysta has performed for various choreographers throughout her education alongside many guest artists such as Sean Carmon, Kelli Barclay, and Taylor Rainbolt. Krysta performed in various faculty concerts, at Barnstorm Dance Festival in June 2019 with Renzo Jimenez, and in June 2022 with a cast under choreographer Justin Kyle Curry. Krysta has had over 10 works in her educational career and, within that time, had one of her works perform in an informal concert at ACDA. Contemporary dance has been an immense influence in Krysta’s training and pedagogy. With her passions in studio dance and higher education, she hopes to pursue teaching in both cultures and encourage future generations of dancers.
